Get ready to FLOCK during @wadeindiaasia in September! FLOCK is a crowdsourced Fractals Workshop installation designed and built by the public, for the public. There is no right or wrong, anyone can participate, just grab some interlocking pieces and get flocking! This iteration of FLOCK will be taught by Abeer Fatima (@onlybyabeer), Lead Interior Designer, DesignAware (@designaware). Check out previous versions of FLOCK on @interflock!
Happy Independence Day!

Checking staircase reinforcement at #RibbonHouse. As the plot is very narrow, every centimeter counts, and it becomes all the more important to follow measurements accurately. The staircase was designed as a folded one to create space underneath for a laundry room.

Pendulum // #RibbonHouse Happy Republic Day from DesignAware! #Repost • @architectureindevelopment ‪Our second post today features Hilltop School, or Bright Horizon Academy, in Hyderabad, #India, a charity school for children from disadvantaged backgrounds in the historic Golconda Fort. It is run by an educational trust and is being built incrementally on a tight budget, on the side of a cliff. ‬ Artwork that’s also a puzzle! Folding/unfolding // From virtual to 3D paper “sketch” to scaled working model to reality! #Fold has had a five-year journey from its first conception in 2017. We had been playing with paper: creasing, cutting, slitting, folding, pleating, when we started exploring the Miura-ori tessellation method. How can 2D evolve into 3D? How can designed objects be dynamic instead of static and adapt to changing needs? How can we fabricate with zero wastage? How can we design to save space? How can we provide privacy as well as permeability? Fold is our response to these questions and more. Happy New Year 2023! Lightning! A simple railing design for a narrow staircase in a tight space. We like to entrust our fabrication team with design development and suggesting resolutions for problems. In this case, the changing levels of the steps make the overall form parametric. Thank you, @zy5_n for capturing our project #HilltopSchool (aka @brighthorizonacademyin) so beautifully! It’s the children who bring the spaces to life!
