Under the theme of the 31st World Design Assembly and Hyderabad Design Week, Humanizing Design, architect Takbir Fatima presented some of the adventures in materiality and interdisciplinary design and education from the DesignAware portfolio, and efforts towards an inclusive design process, as a prelude to the Material Futures panel discussion on 11 October.
It is only by observing how we live today that we can begin to explore how we can live more sustainably tomorrow. By considering the current and future context of design decisions, particularly focusing on the intersection of craft, science and technology, this panel discussion explored how we will live in the future through trans-disciplinary practice and expert collaboration.
The Material Futures panel at the Hyderabad Design Week conference/ World Design Assembly comprised of a diversity of voices, including Sandeep Sanguru, Founder, Sangaru Design Studio, Rakesh Jetli, Better Air Now, IKEA, Henry Skupniewicz, Co-Head, Godrej Design Lab and Takbir Fatima, Director, DesignAware. The panel was moderated by Mrinalini Ghadiok, Editor, Stir.
