Takbir Fatima is the director of DesignAware. She has studied and worked in Saudi Arabia, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai and London. Takbir has a BArch from CSIIT School of Architecture & Planning, Secunderabad, and an MArch in Architecture + Urbanism from the Design Research Lab at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London.

She is passionate about design research, digital prototyping and computation. Takbir has trained in tailoring and carpentry, as well. She aims to work on socially relevant projects alongside mainstream architecture. Takbir also teaches architecture and design in Chennai and Hyderabad.



Arshiya Syed is an architect, landscape architect and urban designer. She has a BArch (Landscape) from CSIIT School of Architecture & Planning in Secunderabad and a Master’s in Urban Design (MUD) from the School of Planning and Architecture in New Delhi. She has worked with various architecture firms in Hyderabad and New Delhi.

Arshiya has a passion for urbanism and public art, as well as community-oriented research and installations. She also aims to teach urban design.



Asna Moazzam heads the ancillary branch of DesignAware in Dubai. She has studied BArch at SV College of Architecture in Cyberabad, and worked in India and the UAE. For the past seven years, Asna has worked in major corporate architecture firms in Abu Dhabi, and now manages a real estate firm, Real Returns, in Dubai.

Having successfully led and completed a Green Building Project in Abu Dhabi, Asna’s interests include sustainability, adobe and rammed-earth construction, and upcycled furniture design. She aims to promote and revive vernacular architecture in Dubai through new projects in this otherwise modern, culturally diverse and technologically advanced city.



Riddhi Parakh is a licensed architect from India and an associate at DesignAware in London. She has a BArch from BN College of Architecture, Pune, and an MArch in Architecture + Urbanism from the Design Research Lab at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London.

She currently works as an architect in a multinational architecture and design firm in London. Her project experience varies from commercial office towers, enterprise headquarters, mixed-use developments, institutional campuses to interior design, focusing on high-end hospitality projects in Kuwait, Malaysia, Indonesia and India.
Riddhi is passionate about using computational tools and parametric digital design towards a better architecture.



Hymavathi Vennapusa is an architect licensed from India, and a project coordinator for DesignAware in Dallas. She has a BArch from CSIIT School of Architecture & Planning in Secunderabad, and an MArch from the University of Texas at Arlington. Hyma currently works in Dallas, and has previously worked in various design and architecture firms in Hyderabad and Mumbai.

She has worked on various retail, healthcare, residential and institutional projects. Hyma is currently working towards her Architect License in Texas.


Abeer Fatima is an interior designer with an Advanced Diploma in Interior Design from the Raffles Millennium Institute of Technology. She has studied and worked in Saudi Arabia, Hyderabad and Bangalore. Abeer’s main interest is in accessible design.


Amatul Noor is an independent consultant and business relationship manager for DesignAware. She has a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) from Osmania University, and has studied and worked in Saudi Arabia, India and Europe.

Amatul currently works as a software engineer for a multinational company in Hyderabad.
