Takbir Fatima is the director of DesignAware. She has worked and studied in al-Khobar, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai and London. Takbir has a BArch from CSIIT School of Architecture & Planning, Secunderabad, and an MArch in Architecture + Urbanism from the Design Research Lab at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London.
She is passionate about design research, digital prototyping and computation. Takbir has trained in tailoring and carpentry, as well. She aims to work on socially relevant projects alongside mainstream architecture. Takbir also teaches architecture and design in Chennai and Hyderabad.
Asna Moazzam heads the ancillary branch of DesignAware in Dubai. She has studied BArch at SV College of Architecture in Cyberabad, and worked in India and the UAE. For the past seven years, Asna has worked in major corporate architecture firms in Abu Dhabi, and now manages a real estate firm, Real Returns, in Dubai.
Having successfully led and completed a Green Building Project in Abu Dhabi, Asna’s interests include sustainability, adobe and rammed-earth construction, and upcycled furniture design. She aims to promote and revive vernacular architecture in Dubai through new projects in this otherwise modern, culturally diverse and technologically advanced city.
Riddhi Parakh is a licensed architect from India and an associate at DesignAware in London. She has a BArch from BN College of Architecture, Pune, and an MArch in Architecture + Urbanism from the Design Research Lab at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London.
Abeer Fatima is an interior designer with an Advanced Diploma in Interior Design from the Raffles Millennium Institute of Technology. She has worked and studied in Saudi Arabia, Hyderabad and Bangalore. Abeer’s main area of interest is accessible design.
